Dr. Finkel was the first person with Board Certification in Geriatric Psychiatry to write the examination for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). He was Board-Certified when the examinations were first given in 1991 and was re-certified in 2001, and once again in 2011. He also has ABPN certification in general psychiatry.
